This zone is located in Sheffield and Doncaster and consists of areas of concrete blocks of flats. Those within Sheffield tend to be built on a large scale due to the higher population within the city. There are significant differences between many municipal and private developments built during this period, with municipal housing developments shows a shift in emphasis from enclosed private gardens to unenclosed communal spaces. This is accompanied by the increasing segregation of pedestrian routes from road systems.
