This zone is located in the district of Sheffield. Similar settlement types with Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham have been separated into the Industrial Settlements and Planned Industrial Settlements zones. These settlements began as small rural villages that have greatly expanded from the mid 19th century onwards.
